This role is essential in helping Mid West Ports shape its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), guiding the organisation in building stronger connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Mid West Ports CEO, Damian Tully, emphasised the importance of this role: “Our Reconciliation Action Plan is an important part of our commitment to creating meaningful and lasting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We’re looking for someone passionate about reconciliation and eager to help us make a real impact in the Mid West region.”
Mid West Ports recognises the significance of its RAP as a key tool for fostering mutual respect and meaningful partnerships with the Wilunyu, Nhanagardi, and Naaguja peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Mid West Ports operates.
The Technical Advisor will play a hands-on role in steering the group’s efforts, ensuring that the voices and priorities of Aboriginal communities are heard and incorporated into the RAP.
Mid West Ports is looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of the priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and is dedicated to fostering positive relationships between Mid West Ports and the community.
This is an exciting opportunity for those who are passionate about reconciliation and want to contribute to a more inclusive future for the Mid West region. Applicants must be willing to attend Working Group meetings, provide input on the RAP’s development, and have an Australian Business Number (ABN) for billing purposes.
Submissions are welcome from anyone with a genuine commitment to reconciliation, particularly those with strong ties to the Mid West.
Expressions of Interest can be submitted via Mid West Ports’ website by 9:00am on 11 November 2024.
