Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) is undertaking works to improve the safety at the CBH Port exit and Marine Terrace intersection with the installation of a roundabout.
Marine Terrace is a significant thoroughfare that services the needs of local road users, pedestrians, cyclists and port customers. It provides a vital link between the Geraldton CBD and the city’s west end.
Maintaining safe and efficient vehicle movement in and around the port while mitigating impacts to the local traffic is an important consideration to MWPA and wider port planning initiatives.
The Marine Terrace Roundabout Project is being funded by the State Government program, Royalties for Regions.
MWPA CEO, Damian Tully said “construction will commence early 2023, with an expected duration of six months, pending utility services relocations.
“Works will be undertaken under full traffic management and while Marine Terrace will remain open for the majority of the construction process, road users are encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid delays during construction. The traffic management will also consider safe access for cyclists and pedestrians using Marine Terrace” Mr Tully said.
