We are thrilled to announce the 2025 apprenticeship intake for Mid West Ports Authority commencing in early 2025. These apprenticeships are designed to provide on-hands job experience whilst giving successful candidates the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

We are offering the following apprenticeships in our Maintenance department on a fixed term full-time basis for four years to commence in 2025:
- Apprentice Mechanical Fitter
- Apprentice Electrician
- Apprentice Boilermaker
We are looking for applicants with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who are committed to working for the duration of the 4-year apprenticeship

About the Role
As an apprentice you will gain practical experience and essential skills whilst completing the relevant trade certificate. Working closely with our experienced tradespersons, you will learn and achieve the skills in a maintenance and construction environment to become a qualified tradesperson while supporting the Port’s mechanical/electrical systems and Bulk Handling infrastructure.

What you’ll need to succeed as an apprentice with Mid West Ports Authority?
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as a part of a team
- Commitment to safety in the workplace
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude with a commitment to learn and complete the apprenticeship
- Knowledge of Mid West Ports Authority
- WACE Certificate preferred but not essential
- Trade Pre-Apprenticeship or relevant work experience in your chosen trade field preferred but not essential
